i once was complete
time weathered and scored me
shaped the grooves of my face
and the caverns of my mind
but still, i was whole
then they came
each chipping away the pieces
in a quest to find my heart
or break me in two
I could never tell which
left me jagged
harsh and unstable
then you split me open
so completely
exposing all I had held in
all that was already yours
